A NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION DEDICATED TO SERVING THE RECREATIONAL NEEDS AND DESIRES OF THE PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED SPORTSPERSON UPCOMING EVENTS FOR CTO

Challenge the Outdoors is working on some events for our members to attend this winter. Unfortunately the details have not been finalized as of this newsletter. We will do our best to get the information out as soon as it is available. The first is UWGB Phoenix vs UW Milwaukee Panthers basketball game on February 8, 2014 at the Resch Center. As soon as details are ready it will be put on the CTO Website and can be found at www.CTO4ME.org In late February or early March we are hoping to have a chance for members to attend a Green Bay Gamblers Hockey game and in March we are planning on the possibility of a Green Bay Blizzard Indoor Football game. Our next newsletter will be out in time for these events however they will be put on the Website as soon as they are confirmed. Also in March we will be having our Spring Pheasant Hunt at J&H Game Farm. The date is not confirmed yet but there will be a notice in the March newsletter and also on the Website.

President's Report - Patrick Nieuwenhuis

Hello everyone, I would like to wish all of the members and others of CTO a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I would like to start by asking the members of CTO to try and remember the people that are in need of assistance this year and could use some help to get by over the holidays. If you can when you are out shopping and have a few extra dollars try to buy something extra for the food pantry box. I know it will go long way in making some families Christmas a lot Merrier. As always CTO does have plans for winter events—please keep an eye on your newsletter. The CTO Holiday Party is set for January 25th. I hope to see you all there for great food, fun, bowling and a lot of laughs. The party is always a good time. I am hoping with the early cold snap that is making some great ice this year that CTO just might be able to pull off a late season ice fishing outing. If members are interested in this please let the Board know so we can see about finding a good lake and try to work out the details.

16th ANNUAL SPORTING CLAY FUNDRAISER J & H GAME FARM, NAVARINO APRIL 5, 21014 It may seem early to start thinking about our fundraiser but it isn’t. Committees are being formed, letters written and folded, donations being solicited, mailings to be done and many other things. Since this is the only fundraising CTO does to run all the programs offered to the members it is important that more get involved in the preparation, the event day itself and the follow up duties. This year we will not be sending raffle tickets in the letters sent in the mail. Check page 5 (gold one) for another way you can help. Let’s all work together to make this year a good one. We were down in numbers last year (lousy weather may have been the cause) so hopefully 2014 will be a great year. Let us hear from you! We’re listed on page 5.

CTO Holiday Party When: 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 25, 1214 Where: Clintonville Lanes, 250 Cty I, Clintonville, WI The party starts at 11:00 with a potluck lunch being served at 12:00 p.m. and bowling will start about 1:00 p.m. Please bring one of your favorite foods. CTO will be picking up the cost of bowling. For those who aren’t interested in bowling there will be cribbage and card playing. In this season of celebration and giving and receiving we ask for a donation of a canned good or other non-perishable food item. The donated items will be given to a local food pantry. Thank you. Vice President Message– Jim Adamovich Deer hunting for another year is done and it is time to tell all the tales about the one that was missed. It is great to hear the story of the ones that the hunters got. Just all the getting together and being in the great outdoors is great. Hope to hear some of the great tales this year at our get together. I’d like to thank everyone who volunteered in any way this last year. Your help is very much ap-preciated. I would like to wish each and everyone, members and volunteers, a very Merry Christ-mas and a Happy New Year.

HIGHLIGHTS OF BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETINGS BY: Judy Paluch October 15, 2013 Challenge the Outdoors donated $150 for a Memorial Stone put on the wall at Shiocton’s American Legion Veterans Memorial Park. It is located across from Bamboo Bend in Shiocton. The leaders of the group, Veterans Outdoor World, are agreeable with helping us get vet erans involved and working on certain activities with us. When Jim, Rod and Mark gave out hot dogs and sods at Gander Mountain , they talked to two men that were interested in helping us with a waterfowl hunt. The annual Sporting Fundraiser is Saturday April 5, 2014. All of the raffle and door prizes should be donated not purchased. Each director and associate director should get 10 prizes and contact 10 businesses if possible to ask for a donation. Offers from donors should be directed to Jean at 920-525-1123. November 19, 2013 Cliff Pheifer volunteered to be Assistant Treasurer to help Jean with the large load of work. From now on there will be sign-up sheets at all events and everyone participating must sign in. We need this information for bookkeeping and so we know who doesn’t show up at events that they sign up for. This is important! We are going to figure out a different system to get the Sporting Clay Fundraiser raffle tickets out to people. Watch for the Christmas letter concerning the Holiday Party—in fact you may already have it.
